ما العمل؟؟؟؟
نزاعات سياسية، طائفية، إقطاعية، عنصرية، مجرمة... نتيجة لعقلية رجعية مبنية على العصبية الدينية الموروثة عائلية وبيئياً. إنه الوضع اللبناني الماضي الراهن.. والمستقبلي على ما يبدو، فكلاب حراسة العقائد البالية لاتزال وللأسف مهيمنة على المجتمع اللبناني الغير منقف سياسياً بدرجة أساسية وغير مدرك وعالم بتاريخه الدموي تارة والمزدهر تارة أخرى. مجتمع مليء بالتناقضات والمفارقات، فهل وحدة الأضداد أو التناقضات هي التي تبقي لبنان وشعبه على قيد الحياة؟ لا أعتقد ذلك، فالمصالح الإقتصادية وعقلية التاجر والناطور والتخاذل والكذب المستشري الذي يحكم العلاقة اليومية بين اللبنانيين هو المحرك الرئيس للعجلة السياسية، الإقتصادية وحتى الإجتماعية. ولعل المثال الفاقع على صورة المجتمع اللبناني الذي يتجلى بأبهى انعكاس له في الطبقبة السياسية الفاسدة التي ينتجها وينتقدها في نفس الوقت. ولكن وأمام هذا الواقع الأليم، يبقى السؤال.... ما العمل؟؟؟ العمل هو هدم المجتمع الحاضر وبناء مجتمع جديد بعقلية ومنهجية جديدة أي ثورة على العادات والتقاليد البالية وبالتالي الوصول إلى فرز طبقة سياسية شفافة قادرة على الإبحار بالبلاد نحو شط الأمان. الحل هو الثورة التي تهدم البنيان القديم عبر قيام نخبة طبقات العمال المثقفين بتغيير النظام بالقوة وفرض نظام عادل ومساوي لجميع المواطنين، غير أن إمكانية حدوث الثورة يجب أن تكون مرتبطة بالتطور التاريخي للمجتمع أي باكتمال الأرضية، العناصر والأسس الخصبة التي تجعل من هذه الثورة أمر محتوم عند نضوج الأضداد الكافية أي زيادة

Written By Malek El Khazen - Currently, while writing this article, I am watching the funeral of Senator Ted Kennedy. An amazing, fascinating Leader and above all being a leader is really secondary to what he was a true and one of the most powerful Legislators worldwide. In his last 3 decades after his fail presidency bill, he did not seek leadership or popularity anymore; he was seeking a better world, an economically just society, and causes beyond presidency, beyond personal positions. To summarize in one sentence he simply became “the voice for the voiceless”. Serving just as a “senator” may not be as prestigious as being a President or Vice President or receive the respect you receive in these executive positions. But as “Teddy” has demonstrated his life fulfillment as a legislator is much greater than many presidents combine could not achieve. He is a fighter for social issues and helped achieve a better nation where economic justice will be available to its citizen. It simply does not matter if you are Conservative or Liberal he was just an American icon, a legend above politics that affected the life of all of a nation. He has introduced or sponsored the most important laws in the modern history of the United States; from civil rights, immigration, minimum wages, education, armed services, health-care to voting rights you will find his fingerprint on each of these laws. His strength was communication reaching to his opponents and most importantly getting compromise with senators with disparate views. He got laws passed, he got a nation moving, he understood the POWER of a legislator and the POWER that the legislator can achieve and this is why he was always referred by his opponents as the “Lion of the Senate”. He was simply a true legislator; a great “public servant who through his dedication did make a difference in creating a better society in America.

الأسبوع في مقال
شهد الأسبوع الفائت تطورات سياسية محلية هامة دفعت بالواقع اللبناني من جديد إلى حضن الواقع الدولي الراهن الذي لا يزال عالقاً بين الخلافات والتحالفات العربية الطارئة بين كل من مصر، السعودية وسوريا لا سيما حول تأليف الحكومة اللبنانية التي وبعد انقضاء أكثر من شهرين على عملية الإنتخاب ، لم يفلح الرئيس المكلف سعد الحريري بتأليفها أو حتى إتمام المشاورات اللازمة عرفياً.
فالرئيس بري صائم عن الكلام، الحريري معتكف حتى إشعار آخر.. والبلد لا يزال معطلاً تحركه وتسيره حكومة تصريف أعمال.
قطع المؤتمر الصحفي الذي عقده العماد عون بداية الأسبوع الصمت الإعلامي ليعلن أنه ومن جديد سيحارب المافيا حيثما يكون وأكد إعادة تمسكه بتوزير جبران باسيل بعد أن اتهمته الموالاة بتعطيل تشكيل الحكومة. واعتبر أنه معني بالوحدة الوطنية اكثر من موضوع التشكيلة الوزارية بعد تصاعد اللهجة التصعيدية الإسرائيلية ضد لبنان.
في مقلب آخر، برزت قضية محطة الإنترنت الإسرائيلية في الباروك التي استطاعت إسرائيل زمن خلالها التنصت غلى رئاسة الجمهورية ووزارة الدفاع لمدة تجاوزت السنتين مما يشكل خرقاً خطيراً للسيادة اللبنانية. أعلن جمبع الأطراف تنصلهم من هذه القضية غير أن المعلومات تحدثت عن تركيبها على عهد الوزير السابق مروان حمادة الذي بدوره أنكر وأدان حملات التحريض ضده.
أياً كان المسؤؤل، تبقى القضية في عهدة السلطات القضائية بشقيها الأمني والمالي والتي لابد من أن تحاسب المسؤولين عن هذا الخرق الأمني الفاضح والذين سهلوا عملية التجسس، وذكرت معلومات عن تورط وامتلاك المحطة من قبل اشخاص معروفون في الوسط السياسي الأمر الذي يطرح علامة استفهام عديدة.

Creating an improved health care system is everyone’s objective who does not seek improvement? Or cut cost? Or covering all of the uninsured? But the big question is do we need universal healthcare? Do we really need it? Or do we need improvement of our current health care system and identifying clearly the problems by tackling them one by one. Major concerns about a universal healthcare still unclear:
1- Cost:
President Obama in one of his town hall meeting has responded by outlining how he planned to fund the program, by eliminating medical-practice waste and insurance expenses, to cover two-thirds, and one-third by taxing those who make over $250,000 a year. Noting that he is in the higher-income bracket, Obama said, "There's nothing wrong with me paying a little more to help people with less."
But it is important to note that “Massachusetts’s universal health plan, long discussed as a possible model for the nation, is getting a $115 million haircut. Faced with lower revenues and a growing number of citizens who lost their jobs and their health insurance… Because of all of these new unexpected variables added the state didn’t have enough money to pay for insurance subsidies for needy residents under the current plan. Higher health care costs fueled a combined $9 billion gap in the state's 2009 and 2010 budgets that had to be closed last month, leaving less for education, public safety, the environment and other services.” (USA-Today, Richard Wolf)
Having clarified this if Massachusetts a state of 6.5 millions residents needed to cover a total of 680 000 uninsured were able to offer health insurance to 439,000 leaving 2.6% of the total population of the state or 115K without insurance. “As of June 30, 2008, the estimated number of uninsured had dropped to 2.6%. 115000 still uninsured” (Boston.com). In reality, Massachusetts needed to cover 680K and they were able to cover 439K which is only 65%of the uninsured. Additionally this has led a deficit in the budget by billions. My next question would be how would the government be able to cover currently 46 millions uninsured? Let us imagine they match Massachusetts performance because as we are all aware it is simply unlikely especially during the first years to cover all uninsured. It is fair to state by implementing the new universal system they will be leaving out of the 46 millions still 16 millions uninsured. Then will this be a failure or success? My biggest concern will still be the deficit that we are already facing which on top of this adding more deficit because of high unemployment, foreclosure rates, house values decreasing, the easy answer seems to be taxing citizens with a salary more than 250K but the money seems simply not to be there or not enough, to cover all of these new costs where you really will NOT be able to cover all of the uninsured especially in the first decade.
We also fail to notice that the cost of Insurance will increase with time, a fast growing population, unemployment rising, what is decreasing is the number of jobs, Revenue of companies decreasing, more debts, government bailing out large companies, stimulus packages, fighting 2 wars, global warning. We cannot simply continue printing money or we will be hit by inflation. These are the expected variables, usually you still have unexpected variables after taking into account all of these variables.

It was quite a surprise for some and normal for others witnessing Jumblat’s deviation via its recent statements and critics towards his unnatural allies in the 14th of March camp. There is no doubt that these changes were stronger than the atomic bomb as described by some Lebanese media. Jumblat surpassed the taboos and claimed his cold war on his own camp. The message was crystal clear, “he was the backbone and a main creator of this movement and he will destroy it” yet badly received by his allies whom as usually misunderstood the world political and economical changes and repeated the same mistake at the end of the Lebanese war. The recent election and its post stage produced a strong Sunni Camp under 1 leadership, Shiite Camp under 1 leadership, a unified Druze camp, and a divided Christian camp under more than 3 grand leaderships each proclaiming its representative majority. This is sad but the fact is what counts. Instead of fortifying the reconciliation under the Patriarch patronage who played a major role in this division. the Christian politicians escalated the inter war situation in which the major players were Nayla Mouawad, Fares Soueid, Boutros harb. Dori shamoun, and Sarmi geagea whom were funded backed and financed by Future movement. Looking at the political scene recently, it is obvious that these “leaders” have found themselves lost in the middle of a big game in which they have been used as small tools to generate it. History repeats itself many times in Lebanon but as usual, the political elite and quality is not present all the time. They found themselves, used; stabbed and alone in the middle of nowhere not knowing that politics is the art of lying and governing where nothing is stable and sacred. Unfortunately, small interests were activating these players and as per the some Lebanese newspapers “These should resign and stay home”. Jumblat could be an example of a true political, realistic and pragmatic leadership. At the end of the day and as Lord Palmerstone quoted: “There are no permanent friendships but permanent interests” where Jumblat could be a model. يوميات.......
يوميات....ساعات....دقائق....ثوان......وأنا أفكر....وأخطط لاكتب ما سأكتب .ما هو موضوع اليوم؟أهو موضوع الامس؟لا بل موضوع الحاضر الذي هو خبر المستقبل......ما ان أكتب حتى أجد نفسي في عالم اخر الا وهو عالم الحروف والكلام,عالم الورقة والقلم,عالم الفكر,عالم" الاعالم"عالم الموجود وعالم الغائب,عالم الواقع وعالم الخيال ......نعم انها حياة" التضاد":القوي مقابل الضعيف,الغني مقابل الفقير,الذكي مقابل البسيط..... لا بد من كتابة يوميات ....بل فلنقل لا بد من كتابة "ثوان"بفعل تسارع الاحداث والتطورات التي نشهدها حاليا في وسط زمن بات من الصعب فيه تجاهل "النقطة والفاصلة" .فنحن العين الساهرة والشاهد المنظور وغير المنظور,نحن الاذان الصاغية لكل "شارد ووارد"نحن اللسان الناطق وحبذا لو يصبح "الفم الذهب". باختصار نحن "الحواس الخمس"زائد الحاسة السادسة والتي باتت داخل كل انسان...فداخل كل انسان "نبي صغير"اذ بات كل منا يتنبأ بما سيحدث غدا :"شو رأيك حرب ولا سلم......."فلكل منا توقعاته وتنبؤاته ولكن دون استخدام الفنجان والكف........ نتيجة ليومياتي وكتاباتي بت قادرا على قراءة الغيب والمورائيات وفك "الشيفرة"وحل اللغز...... ثوان......دقائق......ساعات.......فيوميات....بت أسرع في التفكير والتخطيط لما سأكتبه.....فنحن في عصر ما نسميه"عصر السرعة"ولكن ايننا من هذا العصر واينه منا....خوفي من تلك السرعة وخوفي من ان يسبقنا هذا القطار فينتهي بنا المطاف في كتابة يوميات مختلفة عن تلك اليوميات التي اعتادت ان تكتبها اقلامنا. سهى كرباج 7-8-2009

حصار كنيسة المهد
مقدّمة
شاء القدر، أو بتعبير آخر الإرادة الإلهية أن تكون هذه البقعة الجغرافيّة على الساحل الشرقي للبحر المتوسط، والتي تعاقب عليها الغزاة واختلطت فيها الأجناس والشعوب، من الكنعانيين حتى قبائل الفلسطو واليهود مروراً بالمصريين والأشوريين والرومان، ساحة مواجهات مفتوحة بين كل هذه العناصر المتناقضة، إنها "فلسطين" التي سمّاها هيرودوتس. "فلسطين" عامةً والقدس خاصةً مهد الديانات السماوية الثلاثة. ويمكن القول مهد النزاعات والحروب في العالم، بين اليهودية، المسيحية والإسلامية. ففي أورشليم القدس، حائط المبكى، المسجد الأقصى وكنيسة المهد. والأخيرة هي المكان نفسه الذي يعتقد أنّ مريم العذراء وضعت فيها ابنها يسوع. وكنيسة المهد بنيت في القرن الرابع الميلادي، والكنيسة تحوي عظام الأطفال الذين قتلهم هيرودوس خوفاً أن يكون أحدهم المسيح المنتظر. وهي بدون شك إرث حضاري و أثري عظيم وكبير. هذا الإرث أضحى في نيسان من العام 2002 دراما حقيقيّة، رصاص ولهيب ودم ونار وحصار ومفاوضات. إنّه حصار كنيسة المهد.

انا مغترب .........ولكن........
"انا عايش برا,انا بسافر ,انا بشتغل بالسعودية,انا بالخليج,انا بأميركا,أنا,أنا .........."لطالما دوت أصداء تلك الكلمات في أّذاننا واينما وجدنا في بلدنا الصغير لبنان,بلد "الادمغة المهاجرة".نفرح لمجرد سماعنا بشخص يعمل خارج بلده :نعم"عايش بالنعيم,شو بدو احلى من هيك,بيطلع كتير مصاري نيالو برا,شوفي هون........"نعم وكأن تغترب عن بلدك أمر سهل و بسيط "السهل الممتنع",كأن تأتي لعائلتك وبيتك الذي حضنك بعد أشهر وأشهر ناهيك عن التعب الجسدي والنفسي:عدا الارهاق الذي يسببه العمل,عليك تحمل ضغط الابتعاد عن أهلك و ذويك,الابتعاد عن حياتك,الابتعاد عن احبائك......وما يسببه ذلك من مشاكل...... نعم هذا صحيح انا مغترب وأنا انسان أعمل خارجا لان الحياة وبلدي أجبراني أن أركب الطائرة لاجل بلد اخر:"ويمكنك مشاهدة وجه المسافر من بلده عائدا الى بلد الاغتراب.....وجه حزين ,متحسر على حياته وشبابه.....ولكن شو بدي أعمل كلن كم شهر و بيئطعو.....ما عندي غير حل.....كلو منيح.....الله يصبرنا.......نعم تلك هي كلماتنا,انا مغترب ولكن قلبي حاضر في بلدي,وروحي ترتوي من اشتياقي لبلدي وسأكافح لاعود الى موطني أكثر اشتياقا له عارفا قيمته وثمن الابتعاد عنه. كفى تفكيرا بطريقة خاطئة, "هيدا بيشتغل برا...اكيد معو مصاري.....اكيد مرتاح......" فالمغترب انسان يكافح ليعيش و يستمر ضعف ما تكافحه في بلدك و لربما صحيح بانه"معو مصاري"ولكنه في المقابل يضحي بزهرة شبابه من أجل تأمين حياته وذويه. معذور انت يا مغترب ان ابتعدت عن مرقدك فلعل الحياة تتحسن في بلدك لتعود سريعا حرا تحت وطأة جناحيه لا تائها في عالم السفارات تدق بابها بحثا عن تاشيرة .................
