RIPOLI, Lebanon: A civilian was killed Saturday during clashes between the Lebanese Army and militants in the northern city of Tripoli, a security source said.

The man, identified as Abdou al-Masri, was shot while he was trying to pull his wounded son away from the site of the clashes in the old souks, where the fierce fighting is concentrated.
