The UK announced on Wednesday that it has changed its travel advice to Lebanon.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement: “We are no longer advising against all but essential travel to Lebanon.”

The British Embassy in Beirut updated its Travel Advice to Lebanon, explaining: “We are no longer advising against all but essential travel to Lebanon. However, we continue to advise against travel to some areas in Lebanon.”

British Ambassador Tom Fletcher said: "I am pleased to signal that we are no longer discouraging travel to Lebanon. The situation remains uncertain, and we will keep our advice under close review.”

“We are keen to keep faith with this resilient and inspiring corner of the region, and to play our part in helping Lebanon come through the storm,” he continued. [Link]
