A second home in Lebanon

Skandar Keynes is a young British actor best known for his role as Edmund Pevensie, the boy who betrays his siblings to the White Witch in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - The Chronicles of Narnia. Born to a Lebanese mother and British father, Keynes is denied the right to Lebanese citizenship, as Lebanese women are not allowed to pass their nationality on to their children. Keynes therefore has no right to any of the state’s public services, or to legally receive his family inheritance in the country he considers his second home.

After playing Edmund in all three Narnia films, which are based on the classic children’s books by C.S. Lewis, Keynes is spending a year in Lebanon to work on his Arabic.

NOW sat down with Keynes to talk about his love for his mother country’s food, hospitality and culture. [Interview]
